The Irish Girls tells the true story of two sisters Maggie and Mary who came from a small village in the County of Clare and who departed for the shores of America in 1981 to seek their fortune, and get a tan! It describes their struggles to find employment and their experiences working in a Mafia controlled neighbourhood in Providence Rhode Island. It is a tale of friendship, love and loss, filled with bitter-sweet memories, and a relationship that spanned a decade. To protect the identities of people involved their names and locations have been changed.
